Friday, October 30, 2009 what I have been up to lately: 1) spooktacular at sentosa! an event planned for halloween and supposedly spooky, surprise surprise! hahaha the ghosts definitely paled in comparison to those in night safari but some nevertheless managed to freak us out when they suddenly jump in front of us. anyhow the company was great so I enjoyed myself! (: 2) rach, weijie and I had a chat at starbucks which lasted 6 freaking hours! and I overdosed on caffeine! my gosh two grande drinks somebody save me. 3) visited raimi again last saturday and wednesday! he is getting better, hope he can join us in school real soon. (: on saturday after the hospital visit, the girls went out! haha it was me and lydia and shitian and weiling and liying, we had so much fun shopping + gossiping. heehee talked until we almost missed the last train. 4) watched "my sister's keeper" and I am not going to post any spoilers here. haha but it was a lovely movie and oh-so-sad! P.S. lydia cried until her eyelids flipped. 5) satisfied my craving for smoked salmon while having a mini catching up session with some of my favourite friends. (: and I finally passed everyone their presents after 8825482 years. 6) I have been attending all lectures and tutorials diligently since the start of school! so proud of myself, gpa of four im cominggg! oh yah speaking of which, some of us did skip a lecture today and went to play bridge instead. hmm but let's pretend that never happened. 7) yummy had a durian feast with my family! (: the five of us managed to gobble down four huge durians. haha I really love them. (them = family + durians) haha so that roughly sums up my past two weeks. and tomorrow I'll be having a halloween night movie marathon, will have fun scaring ourselves silly. Monday, October 26, 2009 today we had a rather depressing conversation about how fairytales, fantasy and supernatural never did exist, and never will. you may have watched plays about girls being locked up on the tower for a thousand years by their evil stepmother and then saved by a chivalrous prince. however, in reality, this is simply a pretty girl dressed up in a princess costume with the camera faded in white and zooming in on her face as she gazes longingly through the window for her knight in shining armour. she is not actually living this. we will never live this either. neither of us will ever be the female lead in a fairytale. there will be no prince to sweep me off my feet. there is no Hogwarts, and I never will receive a letter from them, much as I would love to study defence against the dark arts. and I will never be called alice, a girl who landed in wonderland. aliens will never invade and conquer earth. my point is, interesting things like these will never happen. magic does not exist. fairytales does not exist. neither does supernatural powers or heart stopping romance or miracles or pixies or unicorns or pink elephants! face it, the world is kind of boring and it is depressing! but I suppose, it need not be. although our lives will never be that of a fairytale plot, we can lead it the way we want it to be. when something is funny, laugh your heart out. when something makes you sad, cry. when you appreciate somebody, tell them. do what makes you happy, sing as loud as you can and love as hard as you want to. :D anyway I am currently listening to zhang hui mei's diao le and ah du's cha yi dian. addictive, going to add them to my list of favourite songs. :D okay should go add songs to my mp3 now, so that it gives me something to look forward to. I can listen to new songs on the train on my way to school! exciting. haha am going to school early tomorrow to fix my laptop. looking forward to flopping on my bed with honey stars + vitagen + laptop! :D signing off, viting
Friday, October 23, 2009 this is my first update since school started. been working hard at trying to adapt to the timetable, having to wake up early and everything. also, the first week of school is usually rather slack and all the tutorials end early. so we try to have as much fun as possible while we still can. would go out after school and I also finally managed to meet dawn, huda, lyana. and on wednesday, some people from our class also went to visit raimi at the hospital. he is still weak but heard that his condition has stablised and that's happy news! although I highly doubt he would be reading this, but all of us wish he would have a speedy recovery. jiayou! :D so that was a paragraph of disjointed sentences about my random happenings which may not may sense to some. haha but that's alright! :D all in all school has been bearable, and I'll even admit it has been pretty fun. but my class feele empty everyday! without raimi and his craziness + all the beijing people who are still stuck there! haha but they will be back next week! :D heehee okay shall not sleep late lest I turn up late for lessons again tomorrow. right now I am craving for foodcourt 6's prawn noodles. rawr but I really should just go and sleep. goodnight! signing off, viting
Sunday, October 18, 2009  yay happy happy life. (: "maybe sometimes it's easier to be mad at the people you trust, because you know they'll always love you, no matter what." -sisterhood of the travelling pants I recently read the whole series haha. my twelve year old cousin introduced it to me and I went to the children's section of the library to dig for them. they are nice, the movie is nowhere as good. but I really love the above quote from the book, so very true dun you think? (: since the last time I blogged I have been having fun everyday, meeting up with friends and doing random stuff before school starts. super sad, school is starting on monday! I think I will have a difficult time adjusting to the new timetable, having to wake up early and everything. haha but this sem I will try harder not to skip school so often and attend tutorials regularly. I can sense this skeptical look coming from you guys when you read this but have a little trust in me! the genius me here will make an effort manxzxz! speaking of holidays ending, I have yet to meet dawn and lyana and huda and hannah and weiying and large intestines. oh gosh we really should catch up soon. even when school starts we will still have the weekends and weekday evenings! right, done with my update! haha tomorrow will be celebrating shitian's birthday, that girl finally turned eighteen! so proud of her yay, will be updating about it most likely. sooo till then! Sunday, October 11, 2009 so yesterday and today was night safari + shufen's birthday party! :D haha stole one picture of each occasion from lydia, lazy to upload so many so you guys and go to her blog for the rest of the pictures!(as usual haha)  night safari turned out to be awesome! they were having some halloween thing and they came up with halloween highlights like the horror trail and horror tram. we walked the horror trail first, on this "bridge of no return" and it was rather freaky. haha especially the vampire that jumped right at me and the bloody ghost that dropped out of nowhere! but nevertheless, we survived! afterwards we went on the normal trail to look at animals. there were many cute ones, like the otters and flying squirrels, which i love the most. :D the squirrels glide like superman. however, many times we could not spot the animals because it was too dark. I also suspect the animals secretly hate us and are desperately trying to hide themselves behind some tree or rock. but my favourite part of the night has got to be the tram ride! even before it started, I got scared half to death by this ultra scary female ghost. I cannot stand her eyes. they are really big and she stares at you like she is possessed and makes me so scared that if I stare back, my soul will get sucked right into them. you guys must go see her yourself, she is scary.like.hell. then there was the clown in the picture above, he knew I was scared of him and kept charging towards me with the knife. damn I dun like him too, haha but managed to take a picture with him before we left! haha so that was yesterday! and today we went for shufen's party. she is finally 21, proud of her, dun know for what reason haha.  I look like I was holding back my tears. haha but nope, it was due to a series of cam-whoring that left my face numb and I could not smaile properly. heehee but anyway, that is us with the board we made for her. it may look simple but we spent hours putting it together. hope it shows our sincerity! :D it was quite fun, though we spent most of the time either playing cards or stuffing ourselves with chips and chicken and satay and drinks. haha shufen played a good host, for the first time in our history of friendship we witnessed her running around making sure everyone had food and was entertained. :D but she need not worry, we had more than enough to eat, and the cards kept us more than happy. :D alright, once again, happy birthday shufen! and also, happy birthday lengchee! haha although that was a few days ago, but hope it was great! yay im done! by the way my laptop is still dead and I am sad. goodnight! signing off, viting
Tuesday, October 6, 2009 my laptop died on me today while I was in the midst of typing this rather long blog entry. it just kind of went black all of a sudden and the unsuspecting me thought I had accidentally pulled out the charger again or something. but apparently it is more tragic than that. rawr have to make a trip down to my school to fixed it, cannot imagine my late nights without it. the desktop is either always hogged by my brother or too slow for me. anyway my sister's birthday party turned out fun and well, enlightening hahaha. oh and my uncles made me say the f word, because they felt that it was weird for teenagers not to curse. I think they are the weird ones, fancy adults teaching innocent teenagers to curse! what is the world turning to?!? :D the conversation went something like this: uncle: yah jiawei swears all the time, even to his friends. do you? me: err I guess not? uncle: you dun?!? wah so guai, your mum brought you up well. haha but you dun swear at all?!? me: okay does "shit" and "wahlau" count? uncle: no! I was thinking more like fuck. me: -gaping at the absurdity of this whole thing- uncle: hahaha why you look so shocked? you scared to say is it? aiya dun need to be scared la, people use it all the time! me: I am not scared, I just dun like to say it. uncle: haha scared than say. me: well im not. fuck. hahaha okay it feels weird even to type the word out, guess that is why I never used it much. I dun like the way the word looks, so mean and vulgar and ugly. and anyway the conversation was in chinese, apart from the swear words, which made the whole thing weirder, if that's even possible. besides the party, everything else also went rather well. the past few days have been pretty alright. I enjoyed the shopping trip, even though it left me broke. and the retarded pool session with the coolers feelers. :D yup and work was okay too. and my mum has recently taken a liking to ruan jing tian. hahaha she rented his "lu guang sheng ling" and "ming zhong zhu ding wo ai ni" and watches them every night! and I introduced her to "bai quan nu wang" and she is renting that after she finishes the current two. see! even my mum is starting to have better taste, thanks to her brilliant and ever so fabulous+genius+awesome+every-nice-word-you-can-think so daughter. is this cool or is this cool?!? :D alrighty, off to bed! will update again when I get a chance, sigh, shi bai de laptop. signing off, viting
Thursday, October 1, 2009 TEN MOVIES I WANT TO WATCH BEFORE HOLIDAYS END(damn it's ending!) 1) UP actually I watched this at the cinema. but I was like semi-hungover and spent half the time nursing my stupid headache. yup but everyone tells me that they love the show and I want to judge for myself! :D 2) DIE HARD because this is weijie's favourite action movie and he usually shares the same taste as me in the movies/dramas sector. plus my life lacks excitement! action! fire awayyy! 3) DUMBO watched this ages ago and loved it! haha but I dun really remember the story, just that it was extremely sad especially when he went to find his mother! really freaking sad! even sadder than failing exams! made me cry more than when I peel ten onions! okayyy maybe not, but you get the idea. anyway I never peeled ten onions. =.= 4) WHAT DREAMS MAY COME yup I read the novel and find it rather beautiful yet really sad at the same time. so I heard the movie is supposedly profoundly moving?!? hmm. 5) A MOMENT TO REMEMBER haha a korean movie and what are they famous for? yes for being sad! seriously, what is with me and sad movies? heehee but this one looks good, about this guy and girl falling in love and then forced to part due to alzheimer's disease. okay I admit it sounds cliche but I love such movies, especially those about illnesses. because it is damn scary due to the fact that it can happen to anybody, so I will start like picturing myself in the main character's shoes and everything. and I think alzheimer is the next most horrible disease after cancer. can you imagine losing your memory and gradually forgetting everyone and everything you love? though I can list some people I would not mind forgetting...hahaha kidding! I want to remember everyone! 6) THE PROPOSAL rather new movie, wanted to watch it in the cinema but did not in the end. haha heard it is good though. plus it sounds light-hearted and happy so yay! (: 7) HOUSE BUNNY hahaha I love chick flick okay, and it is so not a crime. superficial, funny, simple and stupid yup it sounds good. 8) BRING IT ON okay another chick flick. haha a feel good movie! :D 9) ENOUGH with the female lead happily entering domestic bliss, having believed that she discovered the man of her dreams. and only to realise that the male lead has a hidden possessive dark side(how exciting!) and a abusive alter ego.(even more exciting!) yup so at last the girl ran off with the child to protect themselves and I think it shows them being on the run and being discovered and everything. hahaha okay I think it sounds good. 10) LOVE ACTUALLY yay love this movie! haha going to watch it again because I can watch it again and again and still love it. alright! done with the list so I shall try and sleep now. have to wake up early tomorrow, my sister's birthday! :D going to be treating her and spending the afternoon out with her. then at night we have a family party at my house! anyway! a few more weeks until holidays end, so many things I want to do but yet to do. haha but have been having a lovely time so far and guess I shall just try and make the best of whatever I have left. :D goodnight world! may my zit disappear magically overnight. *chants spells* signing off, viting
