Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Glue is made up of a substance that sticks to things and a solvent that keeps it liquid until you want it to stick. When you put glue on a piece of paper, the solvent gradually evaporates until the glue becomes sticky. When the glue is in a bottle, there is a space inside the bottle above the liquid that is full of air. So why doesn’t the glue dry out? Well there’s a limit to the amount of solvent that can evaporate to fill the space in the bottle. Once the space is full of solvent gas, no more solvent evaporates from the glue and the glue stays runny.

I took half an hour trying to explain this to my dear brother. but I dun think he gets anything I was attempting to explain. then again, neither did I. anyway I got that off ohyeahfacts, supposed to be for an assignment of my brother's.

anyway! sorry for the lack of updates recently. have been busy with school and projects, but generally everything was fun. and my SQM group is actually pretty fun, last week we went to liying's house to film the video and everything. and although we still ended up doing everything last minute, much as we promised we never would again, we still managed to rush everything out. hahaha but honestly, I swear I will never procrastinate and push everything to the end ever again. you guys have my word as a man! (:

haha but made up for all that projects by enjoying myself these few days. (: love long weekends! hmm though I'll spend tomorrow working but maybe I'll have fun too! (: and seriously, I need to buy new alarm clocks like real soon. all of mine ring too softly and they make me late for all my lessons/outings/whatever!

I need one that sounds louder than the fire alarm! recommendations?

“ A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.”-Marley and Me

I want to have a puppy of my own! but my mum would never agree to it. firstly, my brother happens to be allergic to their fur. even if he is not, he runs off and hide whenever any dog comes within ten feet of him. yes, even harmless little puppies, he is like super lame. secondly, my mum seems to think that after it loses its novelty, I would ditch the dog and she has to help me take care of it. but I wouldn't! must be because a few years back, I used to have terrapins. when I first got them I used to change their water often and make them race and everything! then slowly they grew and became huge and scary looking + they shit and eat a lot. so I started to leave them alone and after my mum got sick of helping me look after them, she released them at some pond. yup and so she believes that I am not the patient type and pets are not for me. but she is so wrong, just that there is definitely no way to convince her.

oh well nevermind when I grow up I plan to have a lot of dogs! haha I will play with them, take them out for walks, save money to buy treats for them, train them to sit and shake hands etc! (: aww especially love brown dogs with droopy ears and sad eyes.

my own five promises to my future dogs, inspired from the movie 10 promises to my dog, except I cannot think of 10. hahaha anyway here's the list!

1) share all my favourite music with it. note the songs that makes them happy and play those during their bedtime. (:
2) do less shopping and buy something nice for them every week, like a new toy or a yummy dog biscuit.
3) be sensitive to their feelings and cheer them up when they are sad, just like how I would want them to cheer me up when im down. treat them like a best friend.
4) take loads of pictures of/with it and keep an album! haha so that I will always remember all the fun times we have together + satisfy a dog's inner zi-lianness. (:
5) last one, taken from the movie because it's so true. never forget our life together and be by your side when you die.

hahaha okay enough of my random doggy post. wah but I really would love to keep one! mummy, christmas present?

the weekend was spent doing project and having my eyes glued to the television screen watching gong xing ji. and lydia and I skipped school today to catch some much needed sleep. (: ended up going shopping and then meeting the rest for dinner. now I am wondering whether I should skip school tomorrow haha.

I have decided to go on a school trip next year to vietnam! it will be a two weeks and although the country doesn't particularly interest me, the trip can be paid by edusave so I decided not to waste the money in my account. (: yup actually quite excited, but it is still really far away so I shall put it at the back of my mind for now.

currently more important things to do include UCCD project, SQM project which I cannot seem to start, watching my gong xing ji, deciding where to do my internship, watching 2012 and my girlfriend's an agent, drinking cookie frappe(have been close to a week since I last had my dose) and eating kim gary french toast. haha love the french toast more and more, a few days ago we went there and I had one whole big toast on my own! but I think I can easily eat 3 myself. the french toast there is really yummy. (: rawr talking about food makes me hungry. I think I shall go get my maggie fix now hahaha.

I need to sleep. why am I not tired?!?

had a lovely weekend! (: saturday I diligently went to work haha so proud of myself. and sunday I went shopping with rachel and we had so much fun! dinner at xing wang and got pestered to become their member again. gosh I swear that is extremely irritating, they are so insistent! nevertheless, their beef hor fan is yummy! (:

and today was food implosion! haha went down to support my friends with their bottomless pit of a stomach. they had to gobble down 10 apples, 6 bananas, 10 muffins and 4 bottles of water. believe it or not, they did that, and all under 7 minutes! salute them yo!

nearly the whole class went down to support them! lazy to post the photos, haha they are on facebook and I think the other's blogs. anyway they came in among the top few, which means the next round of competition would be on wednesday. haha exciting, hope the food would be better for the next round. like maybe chocolate fondue or beef lasagna or pizza or tim sum...hahaha okay I pardon me im hungry!

anyway also went to town after school today. satisfied my craving for tomyam noodles, love it so much. (: and did some shopping but town is getting boring, the shops always sell the same clothes. there is nothing to buy online too so maybe that's good, save money for rainy days lol.

oh and before I forget, to all my JC friends, good luck for Alevels! dun be scared, all that preparation will definitely reflect in your results. haha once it's over must date me out okay, no more excuses! (: only problem is, I would most likely be rushing projects and having tests when they are having their holidays. haha but nevermind, there will be a way! (:

alright then! crazy 8am lesson tomorrow, what am I doing here?!?

P.S. I should stop using so many exclamation marks, makes me sound like some weird excited kid haha.

hahaha just received this from an email, it's really stupid, but made me laugh so hard. (: jeffrey and I were just reading them one by one and giggling non stop! (: they are all so cute! should seriously make my friends do some of them as a dare sometime. heehee! (:

THINGS TO DO IN AN ELEVATOR:

1) Lay down a Twister mat and ask people if they’d like to play.

2) Leave a box in a corner, and when someone gets on, ask if they hear something ticking.

3) Call out, “GROUP HUG!” and enforce it.

4) Crack open your briefcase or purse and while peering inside, as “Got enough air in there?”

5) Listen to the elevator walls with a stethoscope.

6) Draw a little square on the floor with chalk, and announce to the other passengers, “This is MY personal space!!”

7) When there’s only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder and pretend it wasn’t you.

8) Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock.

9) Hold the doors open, and say that you’re waiting for your friend. After awhile, let the doors close and say, “Hi Greg, how’s your day been?”

10) Drop a pen, and wait until someone reaches to help pick it up, and then scream “That’s mine!”

happy halloween! (: yvonne and I stayed over at rachel's house and we intended to watch horror movies and scare ourselves silly. excitedly bought bags of chips and made campbell soup for our movie marathon. heehee but in the end I fell asleep in the middle of the first movie called the coffin, already watched it in the cinema when it came out. slept like a pig all the way till morning and spent the day shopping with them!

and at night met my classmates! we had dinner and basically hung out. haha first time seeing kk after two weeks of him being in china. was hoping that he grew up since then but nope, still as lame as ever! :P but anyhow, thanks for the pocky, they were really yummy. and tomorrow finally can see yeeyen haha. :D

anyway, this picture is from when we all went to visit raimi. I like it!

and for the benefit of my dear friend lim shi tian, whom after her eighteen years on planet earth, still have no clue where our lungs are, I decided to post a labelled diagram. :D we were having on of our usual bridging sessions when somehow we mentioned our lungs. and she thought it was "somewhere beside the heart or something." :DD

anyway, hannah just told me that alevels will start next week and end by middle of november. haha to all JC people out there, jiayou! :D
